Why the 17th of January can either make or break your year
The LAST Day to Make a Change in 2024
Today is the day.
The 17th of January.
The day that’s been proven to be the date that "most people subconsciously give up on their goals for the year".
Also known as ‘quitters day’.
But that only goes for those who have set out new goals and objectives for the new year but have yet to take any concrete actions towards them.
So let me ask you this:
Have you taken any concrete actions towards your goals yet this year?
If the answer is no, then I’m sorry, but the stats say that for those who are still yet to take concrete action by today, the likelihood of them actually doing anything major to their lives this year is now in the single digits.
Those who are projected to stick to their goals and make a change this year have already taken steps towards their goals, i.e.:
Their goal was to get in shape, which they’ve now already started, stuck to a new diet and adopted a new training protocol in the gym
Or their goal was to make more money, for which they’ve started working on a new project, side hustle, or business venture.
The REAL question is, are you actually going to make a change this year, or are you going to live it the exact same as last year, the year before, and the year before that?
You KNOW you’re meant for better, and you have goals you want to achieve, but how are you going to achieve them if you keep lying to yourself?
Your goals have value BECAUSE they’re hard to attain and BECAUSE not many others have them; if everyone had them, then they wouldn’t be valuable.
It’s meant to be hard, and it’s meant to be painful, and that’s what separates you from everyone else.
If you can endure that pain, you’ll be up there with those that you look up to.
Everyone likes the idea of setting goals and having dreams, but when it actually comes down to putting them into action, the vast majority would rather procrastinate and sit and watch Netflix, their primary source of comfort.
You need to leave your comfort zone and take action, regardless of how you feel.
It may be tough initially, but more often than not, it gets somewhat easier as you can start to offload the tasks you enjoy the least to others.
However, don’t get me wrong, it’s still HARD, and it requires incredible determination to get to where you want to be, but that’s why systems and productivity ‘hacks’ are so popular as they make that part as easy as possible.
You know what you need to do; you just need to do it.
Are you going to stick to the goal you wrote down in December, or are you going to waste another year?
As Steve Kamb says, “When you screw up, skip a workout, eat bad foods, or sleep in, it doesn’t make you a bad person. It makes you human.”
Realise that you fucked up, want to make a change, and the core reason why you want to make that change to your life and take ACTION - it’s as simple as that.
We all get off track; what separates top performers from everyone else is that they get back on track very quickly.
Pivot your strategy to make it frictionless to stick to what it is you want to do this year and get back to work; otherwise, this year is going to slip away as fast as last year did.
Time is running out, and you need to grab life by the horns before it’s too late.
I recently uploaded a video going over the exact steps you need to take to make it as easy as possible for you to do what you need to do and get closer to your goals this year, which you can check below:
2024 is our year; don’t fuck it up.
Appreciate you,
