The Greatest Barrier Between YOU and Your Goals

AVOID the Treadmill of Hedonism

Pleasure = Pain

Sounds backwards, doesn’t it?

Let me explain.

There are two types of pleasure: real pleasure and fake pleasure.

Real pleasure is those things you dream of doing but, most of the time, have to wait for, such as a holiday or buying that thing you’ve saved for months to be able to buy.

However, fake, artificial pleasure is something that you can have on-demand: social media, Netflix, corn (with a p), you name it.

Every time you allow yourself to indulge in things that bring instant, artificial pleasure (basically, pleasure you haven’t earned), you move a step backwards.

and you’ll experience more PAIN than pleasure

These things give you ZERO fulfilment, make you feel like sh*t and take away from your focus.

It’s ironic because these things that you state as being ‘pleasurable’ (such as TikTok etc) actually move you further away from your goals and, therefore, stop you from achieving REAL pleasure.

Every time you spike your dopamine with undeserved pleasure, you lose the drive towards achieving your true goals.

Not to mention that most of us allow ourselves to indulge in instant pleasure whenever we’re doing something to move us closer to our goals because we get either stressed or bored over our project and don’t want to tackle the pain of that head-on, so we look for a quick escape.

The more and more you DROWN yourself in pleasure, the more pain you’ll feel.

By allowing ourselves to indulge in the hedonistic treadmill, you may make yourself feel good in the moment by temporarily escaping the problem, but you’ll always have that feeling biting away at you, knowing you NEED to do what you’re putting off, and therefore feel like sh*t 24/7, even if TikTok makes you feel that much better in the moment.

Imagine knowing your potential yet still stabbing yourself in the back by indulging in hedonistic pleasure whenever you get the chance.

Sadly, as much as you keep saying, "Nah, I’ll check Instagram one more time, it won’t make a difference” - Yes, it most likely won’t make a difference that day, but by doing that, in the long run, you’re engraining a habit that, ONE, you allow yourself to keep putting things off, and TWO, your best self and the self you aspire to be would have gotten rid of years ago.

I imagine this is the main reason why you’ve said you’re going to get rich next year or do something crazy within the next 6 months but haven't. it’s because you’ve kept putting things off and allowed time to just fly by as you refused to attack both pain and discomfort head-on.

A day doesn’t seem like much until you do the same thing every day, a year flies by, and you look back at your life, realising you’re still in exactly the same place now as you were back then.

If you’re reading this, I know YOU know your potential.

I know you want to be better and are currently in a situation that you’re not happy with.

The only way you’re going to get out of that is by putting yourself through PAIN with NO easy escape.

REAL pain.

Doing that hard workout…

Starting that business…

Creating that video and starting that channel you’ve put off doing for months…

These are the things that will give you NON-ARTIFICIAL dopamine hits.

Also known as REAL LIFE.

Our phones were once an escape from reality, but now, for most, their lives are an escape from their phones.

You weren’t born to spend your whole life aimlessly scrolling TikTok.

Make a change.

LIVE YOUR LIFE

I’m currently sitting here writing this on day 100 of my daily YouTube series, and time has gone by SO fast and will continue to do so, so make sure you do what you know you need to do NOW and not put it off because you're afraid of failing, scared of what others will think, or stuck in a trap of constant instant gratification taking you away from the real things you know you need to be doing.

It's already the 24th of January ffs and we can all agree it's gone fu*king fast.

I mean, what have you done in those 24 days?

If the answer is nothing, make a change NOW, because if it doesn't happen now, when tf is it ever going to happen? Is something going to miraculously change on its own?

Stop lying to yourself.

Don't let yourself get to the age of 80, looking back on your life in regret because you know you could have been so much more.

You have one life and one life only to live; make the most of it.

Pain = Pleasure; ONLY if that pain is attacked head-on.

2024 is our year; just take it day by day.

We’ve got this.
